How To Use the SAR Contacts Website

On the home page, the Search and Rescue Contacts (SAR Contacts) tool is used to find Search and Rescue contacts worldwide.

A) By Country – You can choose to get a list of SAR/Country Contacts by country and display these on a map.

  • Select a country from the Country drop-down list.
  • Select a country by MID (Maritime Identification Digits).

The results will contain both SAR Contacts (type of ARCC, JRCC, MRCC, MRSCand Country Contacts (type of CRS, NSA, OTHER, SAR-DP) in two formats:

  • A map of the Contacts that have a latitude and longitude entered for them.
  • A list of the Contacts, displaying information Type, Country, SRR, Telephone, and Email.
    • By clicking on the “View / Hide Contact Info” button more information is revealed:
      Fax, Website, INMARSAT, Telex, Location (decimal Latitude, Longitude), Notes, “Submit A Change Request”

B) By Latitude & Longitude – You can get a list of SAR Contacts in the SRR containing the point defined by the latitude / longitude, and display all Contacts on a map.

  • Degrees / Minutes format
    • Enter the latitude and longitude degrees and minutes with the direction;
    • Click on the GO button or hit the enter key

OR

  • Decimal format / Address
    • Enter the latitude and longitude separated by a comma OR enter the address of the location and;
    • Click on the GO button or hit the enter key

The results will contain both SAR Contacts (type of ARCC, JRCC, MRCC, MRSC) and Country Contacts (type of CRS, NSA, OTHER, SAR-DP) in two formats:

  • A map of all Contacts that have a latitude and longitude entered for them.
  • A list of the all Contacts in the SRR containing the point displaying information Type, Country, SRR, Telephone, and Email.
    • By clicking on the “View / Hide Contact Info” button more information is revealed:
      Fax, Website, INMARSAT, Telex, Location (decimal Latitude, Longitude), Notes, “Submit A Change Request”

Country & SRR Pages

When you click on a Country or SRR link in the Contact list results from a Lat/Long, Country, or MID search, it will open up the page specific to the Country/SRR.

Each Country and SRR page has its own web address (i.e. URL) and so it can be bookmarked.  For example:

Contact Pages

When you click on Title of a Contact in the Contact list results from a Lat/Long, Country, or MID search it will open up the page specific to the Contact.

Each Contact page has its own web address (i.e. URL) and so it can be bookmarked.  For example:

The Contact page displays:

  • All information about the Contact, including Type, Country, SRR, Latitude/Longitude, Near Address, Telephone, Email, Fax, Website, INMARSAT, Telex, and Notes.
  • A button to Submit A Change Request.
  • A button to show/hide the Change Request history.
