The Directorate General of Maritime and Inland Waters Regulation (Republic or Turkey, Ministry of Transport Maritime Affairs and Communications), in conjunction with regional Turkish Coast Guard centres, are responsible for the coordination of all maritime distress and safety incidents within the Maritime Search and Rescue Region of Turkey. A network of Coast Radio Stations maintains a continuos listening watch on international distress frequencies, including VHF, MF and HF DSC.
